In September 2024, the Max Planck Society awarded the B2B platform company Unite the contract to establish and manage a Digital Marketplace. Through this partnership, Unite will provide the research organisation with procurement services for catalogue-based demand, ensuring access to an integrated marketplace that fully complies with public procurement regulations and provides seamless operational support.
"Significant step towards a dynamic public procurement system"
“Over two decades of experience in both private and public sector procurement has made us a trusted partner for public institutions,” explains Unite’s CEO, Dr Sebastian Wieser. “With the Max Planck Society, we’re now taking a significant step towards a dynamic public procurement system that fully adheres to public procurement law.” A key focus is on managing procurement processes that go beyond standard direct orders – an especially challenging area.
Public institutions have relied on Unite (formerly Mercateo) for tail-end spend management and framework agreement integration for over 20 years. This new collaboration with the Max Planck Society marks another milestone in advancing dynamic procurement for the public sector.
