On 14 June 2022, Unite held its first SAP Meetup in Leipzig. Attendees joined the event from across Central Germany and listened to a variety of presentations, including one about agile work structures in the SAP programming environment. They also had ample opportunity for networking and in-depth discussions over snacks and drinks throughout the meetup.
“Our goal is to create a space for regular, regional exchange. With our first SAP Meetup successfully completed, we’re now one step closer to achieving that goal”, Agile Coach Jana Wachsmuth happily shares. Together with Product Owner Lukas Marsoner and Developer Stefan Voesch, Jana organised the event in the Timonhaus in Leipzig. When the first SAP Meetup came to an end, the attendees were already asking about the next one. And indeed, the second SAP Meetup, themed ‘Works as designed’, is scheduled for 20 September 2022.
‘Agile work in the SAP environment’
Agile work methods have become the dominant process model within the IT sector in recent years. And the SAP environment is no exception. In this presentation, Agile Coach Jana Wachsmuth and Product Owner Lukas Marsoner talk about what agile work means at Unite. Listen in as they report on their challenges and share their recommendations on how to introduce agile work methods. (German video content)
‘How the legal entity approach is changing the demand-to-pay process in SAP’
The current trend goes towards integrating purchasing processes rather than having them provided in stand-alone solutions. One way of implementing this is to adapt the demand-to-pay process to legal entities. For this to work, you need the (supplier) master data grouped by legal entities on one side. And on the other side, you need to adapt all the process steps to the new data structure. This poses quite a change, especially for address-based logistics processes.
‘S/4HANA Migration Cockpit’
The SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit – the successor of the LSMW version – is an SAP-developed tool to migrate data to SAP S/4HANA. Mark Tenhaken introduces the S/4HANA Migration Cockpit by GOpus and talks about what experience he and his team have had with the migration.
‘All I know is that I know nothing’ – Dynamic programming with ABAP
In this video, Stefan Voesch talks about the challenges of historical SAP systems pre-conversion to S/4HANA. He shares an efficient approach to using dynamic programming to retroactively extend pre-existing APIs for monitoring without affecting their consumers.
