Team Lead – Deal Desk (gn)

Project Management, Sales, Leadership & Management, International
Leipzig (DE)
Permanent position

As Team Lead – Deal Desk & Contract Management (gn) you will build a brand-new function at Unite from the ground up. You are the central point of contact for the commercial integrity of our deals, ensuring that deals are compliant, margin-conscious, and well-structured before they close. You analyse how deals currently flow through the sales organisation, identify gaps and risks in the existing process landscape, and design, document, and implement scalable structures.

If you want to build something that truly matters and are looking for creative freedom, responsibility, and real impact, then this role is exactly right for you.

Want to shape the future of procurement? At Unite, we’ve been working for over 25 years to make purchasing in the private and public sectors efficient, sustainable and compliant. We offer organisations a trusted alternative to non-European procurement platforms – strengthening local value creation and keeping data where it belongs. More than 700 employees around the world contribute to Unite’s development, bringing diverse perspectives and a strong sense of responsibility. Does this sound like you? Join us as we take procurement to the next level.

Your role

  • Process Evaluation, Design & Build – Foundation Phase: You conduct a structured analysis of existing deal processes within the sales organisation and identify gaps, risks, and inefficiencies in the current state. Based on this, you define the target process model and required documentation, create a Deal Desk playbook, and design and roll out the deal approval framework for non-standard deals.
  • Deal Desk Governance: You ensure that deal policies are applied consistently and aligned with pricing and margin strategy. You own the approval framework for non-standard deals including discount approvals, contract deviations, and special terms, build deal desk playbooks and approval workflows from scratch, and establish clear SLAs for deal review response times.
  • Commercial Contract Management: You own the governance of commercial documentation including template management, clause review, and approvals tracking, and evaluate, select, and implement a suitable contract management tool in close coordination with Legal, Finance, and Accounting.
  • Pricing & Margin Discipline: You provide guidance on pricing structures, discounting rationale, and margin implications for individual deals, identify deal patterns and recommend policy improvements.
  • Quote-to-Cash Enablement: You support alignment between Sales, Accounting, and Finance on quoting, billing outcomes, and revenue assurance, and assess and approve commercial exceptions such as special pricing, tiered commissions, and volume discounts.
  • People Leadership & Process Improvement: You lead and develop 1 team member, ensure consistent quality and turnaround times across all deal reviews, and improve workflows through automation, standardised templates, and suitable tooling.

Your qualifications

  • Experience & professional background: You bring 3–6 years of professional experience in Deal Desk, Contract Management, Pricing Governance, Revenue Operations, or Commercial Finance and have a strong understanding of commercial sales processes.
  • Building experience: You have a proven track record of structurally building new processes and know how to create something reliable from scratch.
  • Tools & systems: You have experience evaluating or implementing contract management or CPQ tools, which is a clear plus.
  • Stakeholder management: You are able to lead cross-functional stakeholders and manage operational workflows across Sales, Legal, and Finance.
  • Leadership ambition: You bring first leadership experience or have a clear willingness to develop a team.
  • Analytics & big picture: You work with a high attention to detail while always keeping the commercial big picture in mind. Experience in B2B marketplaces, platform businesses, or SaaS environments is an advantage.
  • Languages: You are fluent in both English and German.
