Leipzig, Germany, 31 March 2022: B2B platform Unite was awarded the Silver rating by EcoVadis for its sustainability initiatives. The company managed to increase its overall score once again. This puts Unite in the top 7% of companies assessed in its industry.
In December 2021, the world’s largest provider of sustainability ratings, EcoVadis, certified Unite’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities again. These ratings aim to monitor sustainability in global supply chains. EcoVadis evaluates companies based on criteria across sustainable procurement, environment, labour and human rights as well as ethics.
“We’re delighted that we’re steadily increasing our total score each year,” says Nora Reumschüssel, Corporate Sustainability Manager at Unite. “The Silver award confirms that our CSR measures are effective. Unite employees and executives work on this issue together. In doing so, we’re guided by the requirements of the market as well as our platform users, but CSR is primarily intrinsically motivated here at Unite.” To that end, the company’s travel policies have been made sustainable, the vehicle fleet has been updated accordingly and all German offices are now supplied with green electricity. Unite’s corporate health management and measures for sustainable purchasing have also contributed to this great result.
Even Unite’s business model focuses on sustainability. The Unite platform connects the economy for sustainable business. “We have a major responsibility in our core business,” says Reumschüssel. “Having buyers and suppliers use our Unite platform to create sustainable supply chains is a powerful opportunity in B2B. Sustainability starts with procurement – and that goes for businesses and public sectors alike. With our Sustainable Choice initiative, we provide guidance for sustainable indirect spend right at the point of sale.”
